Halloween

This little girl is as colorful as the rainbow she dressed up as this Halloween.  Allie thought of and designed her own costume this year...with a little help from mom to make it a reality.

Ayden came up with Mac and Cheese this Halloween...so we had to get a little creative...and we had to start save paper towel tubes!  This is the cutest little noodle I've ever seen!  Say CHEESE!

We made the best of the Halloween season by enjoying the skeletons in downtown Northville with Nana.  We always love seeing our old favorites and the new ones they come up with...Back to the Future was an awesome addition this year.

Halloween wasn't just for the kids!  Thankful for friends to have some spooky good times with over candy corn and pumpkin fluff.

Halloween parties were not the same...but for the first time in a LONG time, the kiddos at the G were allowed to wear their costume to school!

Signing Day at Motor City

It's official!  Allie is a MOTOR CITY Ruby and Topaz this year!  I'm so proud of her for taking this change so positively.  She's looking forward to achieving her back tuck and competing on a YOUTH team for the first time!

Mini-Model

Allie played model for a morning in Ann Arbor for a friends awesome new activewear brand.  She had a blast having her photo taken and trying on all the clothing...especially the crop tops!

Fall Ball

Fall Ball may not have been as sophisticated as in the spring...but it sure was fun being the star of the team.  Ayden looked like a pro being batter #1.  He usually got the team off to the right start with a hit and sometimes a run.  Although the team did not win not even a single game...Ayden impressed us all with his baseball skills.

Troop Mackinac

Over 8,000 boxes of cookies got these girls to Mackinac Island!!  What a super fun time...waterpark at the hotel, s'mores on the beach of Lake Huron, touring the island and Fort Mackinaw, and crossing the bridge to the UP.

After riding the ferry under the bridge to the island, we saw the highlights of the island from a horse drawn carriage. We stopped for a quick moment at Arch Rock and then headed to the fort where we had lunch and explored by foot.

The tandem bikes were a hit and super fun!  It took a little practice but Allie and I got the swing of it.  We rode to Sugarloaf, Turtle Park, and to the Grand Hotel to hang out in a rocking chair on the world's longest porch.

All in all, we had an amazing time with amazing friends.  These girls sure did work hard, but it most definitely was well worth it.

Back to School-ish

This year is like no other.  Back to school, half days, wearing masks.  It may be a bumpy ride these next few weeks as we venture through this tornado of back to school with Covid, but we will persevere.  There will many, many, MANY bumps in the road, I'm sure.  However, I'm proud and so happy that our district is back to school with kids IN school safely.

Allie was so happy to be back to school...with her friends and in front of the teacher she was hoping to get, Mrs. Nafso.  She had her outfit picked out the night before, her backpack all packed, and a little something for her teacher too.  Allie was smiles all the way there!  Ayden may hove not wanted anyone to know, but I know deep down inside he was excited to be back to school too.  Even though he would prefer his mom to be his teacher all day, he went willingly into his classroom to meet his new teacher, Mrs. Pace.

This year marks many "news" for me too!  This year I'll be teaching 100% virtually from my little iCenter office.  I'll meet with my classes 2 days of the week via Zoom and I'll be reading in small intervention groups with student on the other 2 days.  I'm so happy to have the opportunity to touch so many students as their iCenter teacher!!
