Easter

Easter came super early this year...I was not thrilled.  Lukily Easter weekend turned out to be somewhat spring-like.  The littles dyed and decorated our eggs the day before...and only about half of them cracked.

We left out some carrots and jellybeans for the bunny...along with some eggs for him to hide for us.

Bright and early on Easter morning we found some treats and treasures waiting for us.  Allie's basket was filled with a chocolate bunny, shoes for her American Girl doll, a Pez dispenser, Easter fuze beads, bubbles, a mini lego set, and a My Little Pony.  She also found a ticket to see Pinkalicious (a Girl Scout event)!

Ayden found lots of good things in his basket...a chocolate bunny, bubbles, a Pez dispenser, bunny chalk,  and a bag to pack full of activities to take in restaurants when we go out to eat (just like Sissy has).

TheEaster Bunny usually leaves a little something for Todd and I...coffee, Twix and Reese's Egg!  Just a few of our favorite.  He also left a ticket for me to see Pinkalicious too!

Ayden loved picking up the eggs the Easter Bunny left all over the house...and finding little treats in all of them too!

All dressed for dinner at Nana's with an egg hunt too!  Happy Easter 2016!

Green Everything

St. Patrick's Day fell on a school day...so there was lot of green fun to be had!  Dressed in green and shamrocks, we headed off to school.  All the kiddos got their green bagels...including Allie.  Yummy treats in school...

...and after school too!  We ALL looked forward to having dinner at McDonald's...and dessert too...SHAMROCK SHAKES!!!  Yummm-O!  Our St. Patty's Day tradition.

Ayden is 2.5

At half past the age of two, Ayden's favorite thing to say is, "No wanna go."  He usually wakes up in the morning around 6:30-7:00. Ayden loves to make his own breakfast of toast or waffles in the toaster all by himself.  He still loves to see what's going on in the kitchen and will ask for the ladder (aka: the step stool). Apple juice is his drink of choice these days as he asks for it often. Ayden loves to eat but will call every meal "lunch."  The Good Dino and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse are Ayden's favorite things to watch on TV.  Ayden loves airplanes, just like his daddy, and wants to watch Top Gun and listen to Danger Zone.

Our Leprechaun Visits

He's BACK!!!  LUCKY the Leprechaun left some green cheer for the Hammerick family this weekend!  Allie and Ayden both found a path of green shamrocks leading them to our kitchen table, which was filled with some special green surprises!!  We found GREEN rice krispie treats and GREEN cereal on our table...and GREEN milk in our fridge.  He left the wee ones some new rainbow paint and a huge new container of rainbow markers (that Ayden wanted to use right away...after he gobbled down his sticky green krispie treat and green pouch too!)

Lucky left a letter letting us know he was so happy we learned about the true meaning of St. Patrick's Day...AND that he left a little bit of his gold hidden in our house somewhere.  He left clues all around.  Allie was very considerate letting Ayden find some of them too!  We sure are LUCKY to have you LUCKY!  We look forward to your visit every year!

1st Season of Soccer

Ayden participated in his first season of SOCCER!  He loved going to "practice" and playing with the cones, balls and parachute.

Our Lil' Kicker graduated up to the next level for next season!  Whoot-woot!

200 Books!

Over the past 2.5 months, Allie (and her mom) have enjoyed reading not 100...but 200 books. The 200 book list was put together by the WB library for all kindergartens on the district.

Allie completed her first 100 books in about a month...thanks to the two week winter break we had.

The second hundred took us until the deadline. Allie finished just in time...with only a day to spare!

Way to go Allie!!  You did it! ...with a lot little help from Dad, my students, Nana, and even YouTube!  ...and your mom, of course!!

Allie was rewarded with a fabulous light-up slinky and a super cool rainbow chevron reading pointer from Mr. Atkinson, our information and technology specialist (aka: librarian). She was absolutely thrilled with her prizes.

Allie has had some Build-A-Bear Workshop gift cards hanging over head and I promised her we could going she met her goal of 200 books.  So, off we went the following day!  Jewel from Lalaloopsy was her chosen prize!  Congrats, my love!
