Hoppy Easter!

I'm going to be honest.  Easter was a bit stressful...not because of all the Easter festivities.  I really didn't do anything with dinner.  Easter day was spent POTTY TRAINING.  What a day!  ...more about that later.  Lucky for us, Todd's mom prepared dinner.  In the midst of hang'n out on the potty all day long, Easter was filled with lots of fun...egg dying, Easter cake decorating, egg hunts, and playing with new toys from the Easter Bunny.

Gear'n Up for Easter

Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt!

Last weekend we all kicked off the spring season with an EASTER EGG HUNT!  Allie met Austin up at Novi City Hall for their annual Flashlight egg hunt.  Allie came equipped with her dad's special op's, federal grade flashlight...BUT...we really didn't need it because when Allie's age group hunted for eggs, it was still somewhat light out.

Allie and Austin both participated in the 2-5 age group.  After the whistle blew, the eggs were gone in about 10.5 seconds.  Allie managed to grab a couple...then Todd scooped her up and ran for more!

Go Team Hammerick...great job, team!

Back inside Allie and Austin posed for some funny, bunny photos.  There was hot chocolate, snow cones, and popcorn...and lots of candy from inside the eggs collected.  Allie sat next to the Easter Bunny for a quick mommy photo (mommy photo - FREE).  Good job, Allie!

Bunnyville!

Today was BEAUTIFUL!!!!  ...55 degrees and sunny (that's beautiful considering the weather we've had lately).  We went to the Detroit Zoo for BUNNYVILLE...along with every other family in the Metro Detroit area.  The line was ridiculous to get in!

When we did manage to enter, we were equipped with a set of bunny ear, a pair of fun sunglasses and a cookie snack.  Off to see some animals!  A quick detour to the whisker painting station.  Now Allie really looks like a bunny!

Lots of animals to see...lions, giraffes, and monkeys were some of Allie's favorites!  Allie liked to talk about how the boy lion and the girl lion were chewing on their bone.

Sweet Ethan and Aunt Jess met up with us for some Bunnyville fun!  Todd and Allie took a ride with Ethan and Jessica on the carousel.  Allie willing rode on her horse...Ethan preferred to be held by his momma.

We are all ready for EASTER!!!  My sweet, sweet Allie bunny!

Here Comes Peter Cottontail

"I like the Easter Bunny...no like Santa." ...is what Allie said on the way to the see the Easter Bunny. This is too true...we all remember Allie's Santa photo this past Christmas...and the year before that, as well.  Papa Ray came over for the annual trip to the mall.  Allie had a couple practice runs before we dressed to the nine for our $22+ photo.  Allie decided this year she would sit next to the Easter Bunny on his bench, instead of on his lap.  Every time we visited the mall a couple weeks in advance, Allie practiced sitting on the bench NEXT to the Easter Bunny.  Along with last year...Allie wore a pink vintage dress (my pink vintage dress I wore when I was about her age).  She was as cute as ever!

Papa gave Allie a little pep talk before the BIG moment.  She was as calm as ever...UNTIL Todd sat Allie on the Easter Bunny's lap and Allie reached for safety.  I quickly reminded him that Allie wanted to sit on the bench...NOT on his lap.

This year's photo...BIG SUCCESS!!!  Awesome job, Allie!

Bow-utiful

While scrummaging around trying to find the perfect bow to match Allie's outfit, I quickly realized I needed a solution to my hair bow problem. Allie has a TON of hair bows and flowers...and probably will accumulate many more in the next few years if I have anything to do with it. Allie's bows are in about four different locations in her room. Trying to find a specific one in the morning when we are usually running late is a pain.

Allie's current bow holder I made when I put her room together...before she was born. But, it soon became full...quickly! I had no idea she would become such a little fashionista with so many hair accessories.  So, I decided to make another one this weekend!!!! Off to Michael's for the materials. I scored the poster frame for only $11! I already had the fabric and ribbon leftover from previous room decor projects.

This was so quick and easy to make. I cut my fabric to size...being careful to put the print down the center of the frame. I hot glued the fabric onto the frame backing.  Next, I cut the ribbon to size and hot glued three strips down the center evenly spaced.

Finally, I put the backing back into the frame and whaaaa-laaaa! It came out super cute!!! It matches her room perfectly and will fit many more hair bows and flowers to come in the future.

Our Lucky Charm

This Sunday St. Patty's Day was pretty eventful.

All dressed up in green...Todd, Allie and I all headed out to SKY ZONE (an indoor trampoline park). This was our first time.  The place was filled with wall-to-wall trampolines.  There were different courts to jump in, a trampoline basketball court, and a foam pit.  Allie LOVED it!  She jumped  for an hour straight.

We headed straight to McDonald's afterwards (Allie was starving from all the jumping) for lunch.  Chicken nuggets, hamburgers and fries.  St. Patty's day isn't complete without a classic Shamrock Shake.  Confession...I bought it for myself thinking Allie wouldn't like it...WRONG!  She drank half my shake!

Allie's in love with anything ice cream!  YUM-O!  That's my kind of GIRL!  We made a quick stop at Ikea and Allie always asks for an ice cream when we leave...today was no exception.  Lots of ice cream today for this little Leprechaun.

For dinner we headed to Nana and Papa's for our traditional St. Patty's day meal...corn beef and cabbage.  Yummy!  Thanks, Nana and Papa, for having us for dinner.  We just love coming over to eat with you...and taking home the leftovers.  This little Leprechaun had a great day!

Third Month of Pregnancy

Baby Hammerick #2 at 9 weeks

Weight Gain?  5 pounds

Sleep?  Waking up to pee is interrupting my shut eye.  Not to mention Allie still has her nights where she wakes up and wants Todd or I to sleep in her room...I've spent a couple nights on her floor.  Not so comfy.

Movement?  I swear I felt a little movement in there when I was laying so very still before falling asleep...but from everything I've read...it's probably just gas.

Food Cravings?  Meat and potatoes, carbs, crackers, dry cheerios (to help me get out of bed in the morning)...nothing sweet.

What's Making Me Queasy?  Everything I once LOVED to eat!  The smell of coffee or the sight of vegetables.  Yuck!

Symptoms? This month didn't have a great start. I was SICK! You know the feeling you get when you have a hangover? I felt like that pretty much most of the day. I never felt the urge to make a run for the toilet, but I had that feeling of wanting to barf my brains out ALL DAY LONG. By the end of the month I started to feel a little better. I could pretty much make it all day long and feel ok...but after dinner around 6:30 or 7:00 was when I started feeling crummy again.

Mood?   Tired!  Just let me sleep...PLEASE!

Looking Forward to...  Feeling better.  Come on second trimester...get here already.

Best Moment of the Month?  Having an ultrasound and seeing Little Hammerick #2 move and squirm all over the TV monitor.  What a great sight seeing that little heartbeat flutter...and sound.

Craft Room Reveal

My craft room has been a work in progress since our basement has been finished...by that I mean I've had to wait for my wonderful husband to find the time to do some hanging for.  Shelf and organizers are finally up on the wall!  Everything has it's place.  This is where the magic happens...

This is where I make my scrapbooks and Allie birthday party decorations...and everything from my ETSY shop.

Click to go to my Etsy shop and check out the goodies I make

I LOVE how it turned out!  Lots of storage for my paper.  All my tools I use on a regular basis are on the wall with easy access.  My ribbon is stored with lots of room to grow.  Under my desk are lots of other supplies for sewing, scrapbooking, crafting and so much more!

Here's the back of Allie's storage shelf in the playroom.  I really wanted my own room for all my craft stuff, but because of cost...this was a more practical way to go...and when the playroom is no longer a playroom, we can always convert this room to something else later...WAY later!

The top two shelves have all of my crafting supplies and tools. The bottom three shelves have Allie's toys in them.

Up-cycled wall shelf from Todd's youth turned into my Cricut cartridge storage and magnetic board to hold receipts from supplies and postal confirmations from orders.

Usually Allie will play while I work...but sometimes I get a little helper who likes to press all the buttons on my Cricut or try to use my paper cutter.  She LOVES to get into all of my things.  Sometimes it's hard to get my work done!

Mini PI

Allie and I spend three days a week in the car together on my way to work and back.  Her day care is is on my direct route to school.  Every morning and afternoon...she never fails me.  Allie is our little Priviate Investigator.

Allie with her Home Depot apron on...on the way to the Kid's Workshop

Allie can make out every Lincoln MKZ, Honda CRV, Toyota Rav 4, or Chevy Impala...all of the vehicles of her dad, mom, Nana, and Papa Ray.  Whenever I pull up behind a familiar car Allie will ALWAYS say..."That's Daddy's car."  She amazes me.  It doesn't matter if the car is directly in front of us, two cars ahead of us, or on the corner...she knows who's car it is.  It's like she's a little detective.  She even likes to point out if the car is a different color than her Nana's or Papa Ray's..."That's a black Nana car."  Allie gets really excited when she sees my car out in the road...probably because they are few far and in between...my car is only 10 years old!!! I have no idea how she knows these things...but it is her favorite thing to do whenever we are out and about in the car.
