Hallo-Week!

The week of Halloween is always a busy one!  This week we Boo-ed some neighbors (Allie was super excited to leave some Halloween treats at our friends' houses in our neighborhood).  She was very sneaky!

Earlier this week Allie and I learned that our friend, Savannah, was about to endure a very serious surgery the day before Halloween.  Savannah would miss out on trick-or-treating on Halloween night.  Soooo, on Thursday we (along with more of her friends) headed over to Savannah's house to surprise her with a night of trick-or-treating up her driveway and down her street a bit.  We are praying for you Savannah and hoping a for a good outcome.

I luckily was able to move my specials around at school so I could attend Allie's Halloween party for a bit.  It was nice to be there as a parent and not a teacher.  Crafts, games, prizes and treats!
On Hallow's Eve, we attended a Halloween Glow Party at Allie gym...a little stunting in part of her Halloween costume.  I was amazed at her extension...that was a first!

Halloween play date early Halloween morning with Ayden's best buds.  Thanks Addie for the goodie bags!  Ayden's not the only man around anymore with little Sammy here!

And some traditional trick-or-treating with our besties, Austin and Carson.  It was a rainy and surprisingly warmer-than-I-thought kind of night.  Ayden kept up the bigs as best as he could...with some help from Daddy.

Happy Halloween 2015!

The hungry caterpillar and beautiful butterfly...

...ate their way through the trick-of-treat trail...TWICE!  Popcorn, candy and snow cones...YUM! YUM!  A little practice trick-or-treating before the big night!

Brrrr-wins (Erwin's)

Our trip to the apple orchard was a bit on the cold side...but the sun was shining and there were apples to be picked...and donuts to be eaten.  I just love going to the cider mill as a family.  It's a fall time favorite.

We did all the things we do every year at Erwins...hay maze, tricycle  track, animal petting, and apple picking (of course).  Allie loved getting those super high apples...with a little help from her daddy.  And Ayden loved tasting all the apples (as usual)!

Pumpkinfest

I just love the fact that we live down the street from a FARM!  Today we ventured up to Tollgate Farms for PUMPKINFEST!  Face painting, hay maze, animal petting, bounce house, hay rides, pumpkin picking, donuts and apple cider filled our beautiful autumn morning.  We picked out the perfect pumpkin to carve in the upcoming weeks and the kiddos picked out a teeny-tiny pumpkin each too.  We love us some Michigan fall pumpkin picking.

Breakfast with Dad

Todd and Allie did something this morning that they never get to do together on a school day...eat breakfast together!  This morning at school, Todd was Allie's date for Breakfast with Dad's! The smile on her face says it all. She loved it!  Her bagel and cream cheese too!  I just LOVE having Allie at school with me.  Life might just be falling into place.

Flu Shot Don't Get Us Down

These two brave kiddos marched into their doctor's office to get their flu mist this Sunday. There was no whining. There were no tears. Just a proud Momma and Daddy...and super cool stickers and bubbles!!  Todd and I couldn't believe how truly painless getting vaccinated from the flu really was this year. Thank you to whatever doctors and scientists invented the flu mist. The Hammerick children are forever grateful for one less shot they have to endure each fall. Begone FLU!

It's Octo-BRRRR

The freezing cold weather this weekend may have kept the Hammerick's inside...but we had lots of fun getting ready for Halloween!

We enjoyed a Halloween lunch to kick off our annual Halloween House Decorating Day.  Spider PB&J and spooky ghost cheese sticks! = two happy Hammerick's!  I love when we get to start wearing our Halloween shirts!

Everyone ate their lunch so they could open their Halloween goodies!  How exciting?!?!  I always need a good reason to treat these two with some new toys...it's not every day we let them have something new.  Allie has been hearing "NO" a lot as we walk through Target.  New toys = happy and cooperative kiddos...for about 20 minutes.

After a little playtime with the new toys we decked our house out for Halloween.  Allie loves taking everything out and looking at it before she (and I) decide where it will be placed for the month of October.  Halloween House Decorating Day is always a day we look forward to.

We finished off our day with a trip to JoAnn's to buy everything we needed for our Halloween costumes.  Then Allie and I headed to the Fall Fest for about an hour until it got a little too cold and started raining.  Octo-BRRRRR is turning out to be a fun, fun time.
