The world reveals itself to those who travel on foot. A couple 3 mile-ish moderately intense hikes, a few shorter strolls to some beautiful views, and a scenic train ride…all through the Cuyahoga Valley. Proud of these kids for learning something new about our history and trekking up and down the mountains (with minimal complaining). Downtown was adorable, some amazing (and interesting) little shops, and dinner was had in an old factory building converted into a restaurant with beautiful views of the Cuyahoga River…literally right under us! While this summer has not exactly turned out how we imagined, I’m feeling thankful to have some family time together before summer ends…even in OH.

Summer Camp
Annual MCC picnic was filled with laughs, late nights, campfires, beaches, cheer friends, and memories. The kids must have biked MILES! Todd and I were first AND second place winners at the Poker Run…and everyone raised the bar with their shots/cocktails. The kids danced on the beach, bonded over a photo scavenger hunt, and stunted in the water (as usual). Loved our camper and appreciate how the owners stocked with coffee and s’mores!! For all my dinner pals…I bought JUST enough cheese and taco sauce!! I WIN!

Frankenmuth Family Fun
When all the girls in your Girl Scout troop are unable to to use their Frankenmuth passes...the Hammerick's make out! Who knew we could have so much family fun time in Frankenmuth? We played putt-putt, mined for gems, forged some iron, and loved on some farm animals.

Last Day of School
3rd grade, 6th grade, and year 21 complete. This year had its struggles, for all of us, all in different ways…but our successes far outweighed our unpleasantnesses. Ayden is a strong math student and enjoyed his weekly iCenter class. Allie liked her history class most and ended the year with almost all A’s (that darn advanced math class). I taught at two buildings this year and reopened the Gretchko Makerspace for all our makers and creators. A much needed summer break is well appreciated.

Final Band Concert
Final BAND CONCERT of the year…and forever. Allie is retiring her trumpet. These band students sounded amazing and showed so much growth. I especially enjoyed the “Attack of the Gnomes” song. Anyone interested in purchasing a gently used, almost new, only transported home 3 times trumpet??
