Our little athletes crushed their fun runs. Allie was the top girl runner in her class with 23 laps! She earned herself a pizza party with the principal. Ayden ran the whole entire time. Way to go!

Home Run
Sunday Funday at the Tiger's game It's Girl Scout day and these lovely ladies were the first scouts to walk the field before the game. We watched the Detroit boys play while we enjoyed nachos hotdogs, and cotton candy.

Ayden is SIX
Ayden is sweet, loving. loud and curious. He loves flying airplanes and driving cars, building with Lego's and Magnatiles, and playing Minecraft. Ayden loves to eat frozen Gogurts, veggie straws, and hotdogs. Staying at home and playing with his toys is what he loves most. Ayden is a ninja and continues to play tennis. He likes to play baseball in the backyard and riding his bike on adventures around town. Ayden loves penguins and chickens, but is scared of bugs. He's great at organizing and cleaning. Ayden is learning how to read and likes to do homework.
Ayden celebrated his 6th birthday in the backyard with all his buddies. They had a smashing good time jumping in his monster truck bounce house and smashing open the Grave Digger piƱata.
On the day of his birth, six years later, Ayden awoke to the family's elves...who left a little surprise for him. Ayden picked Samurai for his birthday dinner and Dairy Queen for dessert. He loved all his Monster Truck birthday gifts and his new Minecraft game...of course!

Back to School
Here we go again! Allie is entering third grade at her brand new school , Scotch Elementary. She has two fabulous teachers this year, Mrs. Donovon and Mrs. MacColl. She will ride the bus from Gretchko everyday too. Ayden is in "real" kindergarten this year in Mrs. Wild's class. He was so excited to hear Mrs. Wild would be his teacher this year. This will be my 18th year teaching elementary kiddos. I'll be teaching second grade again at Gretchko this school year.
Summer Bucket List
Summer always flies by WAY too fast! It seems like July comes and then all of a sudden I'm back in my classroom a few days later getting ready for the new school year.
The Hammerick's once again had many adventures this summer. The kids came up with a few things they wanted to do this summer, which included rock painting, roller skating, visiting the puppy store, Airtime, flying with Daddy, and theater camp for Allie (Ayden took tennis lessons for part of the summer). Or course the kids participated in the summer reading program at the library and I volunteered again at VBS (we still love our VBS)!
Or travels included Pennsylvania to see Aunite Ellen and Uncle Joe. We explored Seattle, WA before we cruised to Alaska. Finally, all four of us visited Harbor Springs and Houghton Lake in northern Michigan just before back to school.
It's always so sad when summer ends. Sometime summer feels just as busy as the school year with all that we do and all the places we go...but I feel so blessed to have these summer memories to fill my heart.
