The Florida Keys

Warm, beautiful, and some family time is what he Keys were! We explored, we sunbathed, and we ate LOTS of key lime everything!

We ventured to Robbie's in Islamorada. This was the first time feeding the tarpon….YIKES! I almost got my arm bit off and those pelicans are so aggressive. We left our mark in The Keys and stapled a dollar on the wall.

We toured a working turtle hospital and learned a lot about the different species of sea turtles and how the vets rescue, operate on, and release the turtles back in the wild. I should have been a marine biologist.

We crossed it! All 7 miles of it, from Marathon Key to a big Pine Key…and we found it! The No Name Pub. Best key lime pie yet! Although the fried key lime pie we had just an hour-ish before was a close second! Amazing views, lots more sun, and a manatee swimming right by our table at lunch!

Everglades National Park

If the devil ever raised a garden, the Everglades was it. Today’s adventures took us to the largest wetlands in the world…America’s 3rd largest National Park. I can now check “Airboat” off my bucket list. Speeding through the mangroves and even doing some doughnuts in the wetland waters of the alligators was a thrill for us all. We ate Everglades Indian Fry Bread and snacked on milkshakes from the famous ROBERT IS HERE fruit stand (pineapple, banana, and coconut was delish!). We made it just in time for a sunset hike on one of the many, many trails throughout the massive park. Lots of driving today…lots of memories.
