Goodbye Forever Home

SOLD! The Hammerick’s are closing one chapter and looking forward to the next! We built our “forever home” 15 years ago and never really had any intentions of leaving here. I have fond memories of decorating every inch of this place, sending Todd to VA then to MA for 2 years and living here alone, bringing home my two babies and watching them grow through so many stages, so many holidays and time with family and friends. We intended to watch our kids graduate here...but as our kids are growing older we are ready to experience all the fun life has to offer us. Everytime these photos pop up in my “memories” I’m sure I’ll be overwhelmed with thoughts of our younger years and many, many baby days. Hemingway was very good to us and we’ve met friends here we now call family...I’m forever grateful. We are still nearby! But, in a rental (with a great pool) until we find our next “forever home.”

It’s surreal...we said goodbye to our home of 15 years. Our house was completely empty as we walked through one last time before we handed over the keys...but our hearts are full of memories. As we walked through each room we remembered moments...some funny, some scary, most happy. We loved this house, our neighbors, and it’s location...but life has other adventures planned for us. We will miss you Hemingway.

Universal Studios

Being recent hug Harry Potter fans after reading the first 4 books in the series...the kids were looking forward to visiting Hogwarts and Hogsmeade at Universal Studios.  I was so thankful to be in the hot Florida sun...and even walking around in a hot and humid mask all day didn't even put a damper on our fun.

Harry Potter was AMAZING!!  Everything looked so real.  We were right there in the wizarding world.  Ayden was just tall enough to ride some of the bigger rides...although now he is wishing he wasn't just quite yet.  Hagrid's Motorbike and the Forbidden Journey a the castle may have put him over the edge just a bit.  After only our second ride, Ayden was done with Harry Potter rides for the day.  Our plans altered a bit and off we went to purchase our very own magical wands from Olivander's.  My little witch and wizard walked around casting spells in Diagon Alley throughout the afternoon.  We ate at he Three Broomsticks and Leaky Cauldron, enjoying butterbeer and pumpkin juice.  The strawberry and peanut butter ice cream at Florean's was delish.

Other Universal favorites were the Woody Woodpecker, Spiderman, and ET rides...and of course unlimited slurpees ALL DAY LONG!
