NASA

Before we board our ship tomorrow, we made a quick visit to the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston.  Unfortunately, Allie was feeling a little bit like the rainy weather...she had a slight fever, but a little Tylenol saved the afternoon and we were able to enjoy some super cool space exhibits.

Allie really enjoyed seeing Sally Ride's space suit.  Her and Julia have been learning all about the moon and women in space for the Lego League challenge this year.  Being able to touch the moon was amazing!  Ayden and Ethan liked the tram ride to Mission Control.  Going inside a space shuttle was so fun seeing everything inside and learning all about space.

The highlight of the afternoon was seeing the Saturn V rocket up close!  It was HUGE!  We were in aww standing next to it's engines.

Allie's Second Grade Concert

Allie sang in her second grade concert along with my students this year.  The songs sung coincided with the science fair theme of endangered animals.  Allie sang about habitats, soaring eagles, water, recycling and our wonderful world.  These little performers dressed the part too with an animal necklace.

Pizza Box Art

Tonight we bought two pizzas from Marco's and guess what they arrived in? Two beautifully decorated pizza boxes...artwork by Allie and Ayden (one cheese and one pepperoni).  Pizza for dinner, super cute pizza boxes, and a fundraiser for school.  It's a WIN-WIN!

Art Show & Science Fair

Ayden explored and learned about severe weather for the science fair.  He research all about heat waves.  Ayden engineered a house to keep a chicken cool from the sun's heat.  He measured the temperature of the house and found that his project kept the heat out!

Allie and her gal pals researched polar bears and how they are becoming endangered.  She learned all about their bodies, what they eat, where they live and how they survive.  She also learned how they are an important component of the ecosystem.  Allie presented all the information her group learned.

The Art Show was also displayed...check out these two beautiful pieces of art.  So beautiful!
