Overnight in a Lighthouse

Allie and I spent the night at an almost 200 year old lighthouse with some of our Girl Scout sisters. We climbed to the top twice and also saw the Blue Water Bridge to Canada.

 

 

 

 

Volcano Bay

While we may have been exhausted, we couldn't go home and not visit a park. Volcano Bay was a great choice for a day of fun in the sun before our flight took off this evening.  Ayden preferred the wave pool while Allie liked the slides best.  Todd and I could have just laid on the loungers are all day.  We will miss this hot weather.

 

 

 

All Star Worlds 2022

Look out WORLDS…here she comes!! It was a LATE night getting in and an EARLY morning getting up for practice at Top Gun...but the blingiest new practice wear was the best part of the past 24 hours...and the amazingly warm weather! A little time in the pool and then team photos and dinner with the cheer crew. What a surprise to see Allie's cheer bestie, Hailey, on the front of the athlete lanyard pass...THAT EVERY ATHLETE IN THE WHOLE COMPETITION WOULD BE WEARING!!

 

What a COUPLD DAYS to follow too!! Up at 5AM. Amazing performances from both of Allie's teams. So proud of Allie’s recovery from a little mishap on Sapphires. Jade’s too-high toe touch may have taught us a lesson on day one…but they (both teams) made it to FINALS!! They were ready to put their routines on the floor ONE LAST TIME! Both JAD3 and SAPPHIRE2 made the FINALS! And we met GABI BUTLER!!

  

 

 

 

  

 

They came and they concurred…SECOND PLACE SILVER MEDAL out of 45 finalists that made it to day two at All Star Worlds. That’s about 100 teams in all!! SECOND AT WORLDS!! Jade put up a fight this year with so many ups and downs. What a way to end the season performing this routine, in this uniform, with these athletes…one last time. 15 hours in a convention center on about 4 hours of sleep, THIS makes it all worth it!!

Allie also competed with Sapphires and pulled off a beautiful routine with some of her favorite people. So proud that they made it to the finals!

ALL 3 Motor City teams made it to finals and all 3 HIT today! …all 3 are here on a PAID BID too! So many tears shed as we close this cheer season. Amazing memories, growth, and friendships. It’s WAY more than cheer There’s a lot to be proud of.

 

 

Easter

Happy Easter from our family to yours. Thinking of loved ones lost today. Lots of happy Easter traditions this weekend…egg dying, Easter crafts, church mass, brunch at Nana’s, and the Easter Bunny visit! Hot chocolate in Papa's mug may have been my favorite today.

 

 

 

Guitar

Back in the fall he picked up Todd's guitar and wanted to learn Metallica.  After lots of determination and practice, he learned!  So we figured a new guitar that is just his size would be a great investment and keep our homebody busy...at home.  

Ayden started guitar lessons with the most amazingly, kind-hearted and passionate musician I know...Taylor.  New songs he's working on...Twinkle-Twinkle, Ode to Joy, and Free Falling.
