Fun Run

Allie rocked out this year's fun run!  She was a top lap runner in her class with 13 laps.  She didn't stop running the WHOLE TIME!!  So proud of this girl!  I jumped in and ran a little with her too! 

Summer Reading

We LOVE the West Bloomfield summer reading program!  This summer, Ayden even got to participate.  Both kiddos had lots of reading challenges to complete, a hefty reading goal (100 hours for Allie, again.) and a few fun programs to see...we got to see Eric Litwin and PETE THE CAT!

The littles entered one of their creations into the Summer Reading Project Fair.

Allie ended in 3rd place on the LEADER BOARD from all the challenges and reading points she earned and won a Snap Circuit Kit!  She collected all 10 reading brag tags!

Allie was a TOP READER in her school, reading over 100 hours!  She was invited to the board meeting to receive a reading medal and be recognized.

Big Kid Bed

All BIG BEDS in this house!. Today we FINALLY converted Ayden’s toddler bed into a full sized bed.  We think he’s starting to get the hang of this “going to bed by yourself” thing...but he tends to sneak out of bed and pass out in the hallway outside our door. I usually scoop him up and put him back to bed after I hear snoring from outside our door. However, in the morning we usually have a little friend laying in the floor beside our bed. We are HOPING this new big boy bed will do the trick!!  And help Ayden go to bed peacefully...and stay in bed too. 

On a whim this morning we ventured out, bought us a mattress, and strapped it to the roof of our car. We drove home hillbilly style (holding the mattress to our roof) and put together Ayden’s new bed. When he was about 1, I purchased his bedding...so glad that I did!!  DONE!!  Looking spectacular in here!!!

Ayden is 4

Ayden is a happy, giggly and curious boy.  He is always asking questions to learn more about the world around him.  He sleeps in a full size bed and can brush his own teeth.  Ayden is in preschool again this year, but talking so much more than before.  Some of his favorite toys are JJ the dog, all of his trucks and building with Lego's.  Ayden LOVES to be outside, riding his bike or collecting sticks to make a campfire.  He likes to jump in the trampoline, play in his sandbox and watch truck videos on the iPad.  Some of Ayden's favorite foods are Gogurt, applesauce pouches and ice cream.  Ayden attends swim class and is interested in tennis too.

The morning of Ayden's birthday, two little friends showed up to wish him a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  Jingle and Belle arrived with a letter and birthday gift...a Lego sea plane!

Ayden celebrated turning FOUR with his friends at school.  Luckily I had a meeting in the same building as his school...so I was able to come in when his class sang to him.  Nana and Ayden made AIRPLANE cup cakes for his friends.

Ayden celebrated with the grandparents that evening with dinner and ice cream.  He was so excited to open his presents!!!  He received a combine harvester and cement truck from Papa Ray, a steam roller, construction themed clothes and books from Nana and Auntie Ellen, and Farm Sprouts camp from Todd and I.

Ayden will celebrate with all his friends at his TRASH BASH on Saturday!!!  More PRESENTS!!

Apple Picking

Erwin's is open for another season...and we actually made it there early enough to pick us some Honeycrisp apples this year!  Ayden's highlight was the tractor ride, or course!  Both little enjoyed picking and eating the apples in the orchard.  The doughnuts and cider was delicious...and no bee stings either...successful morning!

 

 

Back to School 2017

Today my little dude went back to school...back to his wonderful, loving and nurturing PRESCHOOL teacher, Mrs. Poxon.  He took it waaaayyyy better than he did last year.  NO TEARS and a bit of excitement.  He is going to have a great year as the leader in his class.  I'm looking forward to him really shining this year.

Allie's back to school happened yesterday (as did mine)!  I can't believe how grownup she looks...just beautiful!  She is going to have an amazing year with her TWO teachers and some really good new and old friends in her class.  Allie was very excited to wake up and get "fancy" dress on for school!

Another year is beginning with lots in store.  I can't wait to see all they learn and how much they will grow...both inside and out.

Labor Day Up North

One last get-a-way before the craziness of school starting.  We headed up north to the Ader's cottage for some time with our besties.  Todd flew us and the kids LOVED it!  Sure beats sitting in a car!

 

 

 

Once we arrived we had some fun in the sun...it was a tad too chilly for my liking.  But, the kids didn't seem to notice.  Ayden was obsessed with the jet skis and looking forward to them the whole trip.  Todd took him out a few times. 

So thankful for our friendships...and that our kiddos get along so well.  Too bad the rainy weather ended our trip a bit early.  We flew home the night before to avoid thunderstorms.  All good things must come to an end.
