Lego League

Lego League happened Girl Scout style this year.  5 little scouts made up our team, The Courageous Cottontails.  We researched all about bees and how they are in danger.  Our challenge this year was to research an animal that shares the same habitat as the bee and build a model showing what we learned.  Our teams chose the RABBIT...cottontail, actually!

For the past 5 months, Allie and her teammates learned about where rabbits live, what they eat, and how they survive.  They learned about robotics and how to make one part on their model move (their rabbit, Daisy).  Today, all their hard work was showcased at Oakland Mall with the rest of the Leg League Girl Scout teams.  Great job, ladies...so proud of you!

Their model included lots of Girl Scout elements...Juliette Gordon Low and her troop.  Juliette worked in the garden.  Her troop worked in the bee garden gathering honey.  They took their food to the market via tractor.  Daisy the courageous cottontail ate a yummy orange carrot, but quickly rolled away from her predator, the coyote.

These girls presented all their information to the reviewer very well!  Way to go, team!

Student of the Week

Allie was STUDENT OF THE WEEK!  She shared herself with her classmates by creating a poster.  Allie wants to be a pilot (just like her daddy) and her favorite thing to do is cheer!  If she had one wish, it would be to meet her grandma...melt my heart.  Allie got to take down all the notes to the office and be the line leader all week.  How fun!

Kindergarten Concert

My little Gretchko Star had her Kindergarten concert.  She was a fabulous penguin, front and center...and remembered all her penguin moves.  Great singing, Allie!

Love on Valentine's Day

Love filled our house this past weekend as Todd and I prepared something special for our two little loves.  We got out our Valentine plates to have lunch and treats on.

Love of lovely goodies...new shoes, crafts, card making supplies, and a Lego bin for her Lego table for Allie.  Ayden rocked his new hat and baseball mitt and glove.

We made (the littles actually helped too!) their Valentine's' for all their friends at school.  Everyone's a CUTIE this year.

Today, Nana got to take Ayden to school for his Valentine party (it fell on a Tuesday, Nana's day).  He played games, passed out his Valentine's and have some yummy treats too.

Lucky for me I got to come to bit of Allie's Valentine party at school.  Allie and I have so much fun posing for pictures in the photo booth, making a heart thumb-print bookmark and eating yummy snacks too!

Allie's Class on Valentine's Day!

Love these two with all my heart!

Pinecone

My super star reader completed reading the 2017 Pinecone books!!  Allie read (or was read to) 30 books and completed a book report on each!  Way to go on smashing that goal!

Pinecone

WE did it!  WE read all 30 Pinecone books for the school's reading program.  Go US!  This was a joint effort...of course!  But WE are so proud!

Bitty Bombs at Great Wolf

Having a cheer competition at Kalahari, gives us a GREAT reason to take a day off and enjoy the waterpark.  The Hammerick's ALL took a family day and headed to Great Wolf Lodge early on Friday so we could make the most of our trip.  The kiddos enjoyed splashing, swimming, sliding and soaking at Great Wolf's waterpark all day Friday.  Allie was thrilled she was tall enough to ride on ALL the slides by herself and Ayden was brave enough to try them out with Mom and Dad...he could ride on a lot of little ones on his own.  The family favorite HAD to have been the big hot tub (it gets pretty cold going down those slides.  Story time with Violet and Brinkly were a hit too.

On Saturday, Allie competed for the first time this season.  Those Bitties were the cutest thing ever on the floor.  Sparkles and smiles all around.  They did pretty well for their first competition...a little work still to do before the next.

They took 2nd place...not too bad.  Proud parents!!!
