Guilty

I swore up and down that I wouldn't feed my kids all those unhealthy foods that they love so much...sugary, food dyes, processed. That was before I had two kids with minds, and stomachs, of their own.

Earlier this week while I was getting coats on these two to get out the door in the morning, Ayden went in the pantry and helped himself to a Pop-Tart of Allie's. I didn't really object because the thought of a screaming disappointed toddler riding in my backseat was not at all how I wanted to spend my drive to school.

This morning Allie decided she didn't like her Frozen cereal anymore...as she does with most foods.  One day she loves something and the next it's completely off her menu.  Ayden decided he would gobble up her yummy cereal.  I walked away from the table and when I returned, I found him picking out ALL the marshmallow pieces!  It's already starting...this seems too young!

Easter Bunny Pics 2015

All dressed and ready to go!  Allie was so excited to see the Easter Bunny.  Ayden...wasn't as thrilled.  This spring, the Easter Bunny was hopping on over to our most favorite place to shop...COSTCO!  We decided to get dressed in our Easter's best and head on over to the egg hunt.

We pretty much hit up Costco just about every weekend.  These two love to sit next to each other and eat their way through the store as we shop...since there is a sample at just about every corner.  Today, there were egg hunt stations hidden throughout the store.  This made our shopping so much more fun!

This is Ayden's "cheese" face.

Allie hopped right up on the Easter Bunny's lap.  Ayden was a bit more timid, but willing cooperated for a photo...thanks bud!  Easter Bunny photo success!

We usually never leave Costco without sharing a monster sized frozen yogurt...it's the one and only reason why Allie loves to go shopping there with us.  One of our Easter eggs had a coupon inside for a FREE frozen yogurt!  Yum-O!  A perfect ending to our Easter Bunny visit!

Ice Cream for Dinner

What is better than ice cream for dinner? Not too much, in our opinions. Todd worked late and I picked up both kiddos this Friday afternoon. Dairy Queen offered up free ice cream cones today, the first day or spring. These two had no objectives about tonight's dinner menu!  Neither did their mom...yum!

Gearing Up for St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day means SPRING is in the air!  I love all the green...and can't wait to see more of it as soon as all this snow melts.

Bright and early this morning a little more green exploded in our kitchen!  Our family Leprechaun, Lucky, made his second visit to the Hammerick's house.  He brought some St. Patrick's Day cheer, yummy treats, and fun goodies for the littles.  He made sure to turn everything green too...the cupcakes and the milk!

Allie was surprised with a new My Little Pony named Minty, a St. Patty's headband that she's been asking for, a new set of rainbow watercolors, Lucky Charms Chapstick, and some other yummy Leprechaun and green goodies.  Lucky also drew up some St. Patrick's day WORK for Allie to do...he heard she loves to do her homework!

Lucky left Ayden a St. Patty's day shirt and a fun school bus filled with his favorites snacks...Veggie Straws and applesauce pouches.

Lucky left a letter to let us know who made this special St. Patrick's Day treat!  He said that he was so glad Allie remembered to talk and learn about St. Patrick again this year.    Ayden spotted the cupcakes RIGHT AWAY and wanted to let everyone know.  Cupcakes for breakfast!!!  Allie passed up the cupcakes but enjoyed her special bowl of Lucky Charms cereal.

Such a sad face when I told him he could only have ONE cupcake for breakfast.  So sorry, buddy!

Lucky also left us a fun TREASURE HUNT to find a little pot of gold he was willing to share with his favorite family.  Allie found all the clues...and the MONEY!!!  $6.00...which she happily shared with her brother...how sweet!  The clues were hidden all over the house.  That silly Lucky said he hid the pot of gold in our garbage can!!!  Allie looked in 3 garbage cans before she finally found it in our bathroom!  It wasn't actually IN the garbage can...be where the garbage can usually sits.  Lots of "gold" and goodies! Ayden was just happy to be IN the bathroom.  All he cared about was flushing the toilet.  He did enjoy a green sucker for the very time though!

I'm so blessed to have two littles that willingly WANT to pose for photos!  These two are so cute...Ayden just sits right down next to Allie (for about 2 seconds) and even says "Cheeeeese!"  Silly goofballs.

Allie did ALL of her work in one sitting.  She loved every page and made sure to do her best coloring.  She decided to take it to school for show-and-tell next week.

This afternoon, I took Allie to Aqua Tots for a their St. Patrick's celebration and open swim.  She made a craft, had some snacks...but was most excited for her St. Patty's Day SWIM with her pal, Ainsley.

St. Patty's Day success!  Thanks, Lucky, for giving this family more memories for this momma to treasure.

Frozen on Ice

We had so much fun at Frozen on Ice!  Allie and Austin bought each other tickets (and their moms too) for Christmas.  When the kiddos opened up their gifts three months ago...you could say Allie was a little more thrilled than Austin. However...now that the day finally arrived, excitement might have been an understatement. These two sang their hearts out today watching Elsa, Anna, and Olaf take the ice.

The two cutest fans at the show...and the silliest too!

The show was great...the storyline was just like the movie. There were tons and tons of goodies to buy...I'm sure Allie would have loved to pick out a number of Frozen themed goodies. She narrowed it down to a bag of cotton candy...which you had to buy with an Olaf hat!  The prices were outrageous!  Let's just leave it at that.

I know Allie had a blast...but I did too!  I truly enjoy our date days together.

Ayden is 18 Months

Ayden is a thriving and joyful, on-the-go little guy.  Some of his favorite activities are pushing his toys around and knock things over.  Ayden loves taking baths, reading books, and being chased.  He loves throwing trash away in the garbage can under the kitchen sink.  Ayden has become very verbal.  His favorite phrase is "all done."  He will say "all done" when he gets up in the morning, when he's finished eating, or when Todd or I tell him he is all done with whatever thing he might be destroying at the moment.  Ayden says "ba" for bath, "ni-ni" for night-night, "bape" for baby, and "ot" for hot.  Ayden will stand by the refrigerator and complain until someone opens the door so he can get his water out. He loves to play with the coffee creamers in the refrigerator door.  Ayden's favorite foods are string cheese, ice cream cones, mac-n-cheese, frozen peas, applesauce and pop tarts.  He insists on feeding himself. Ayden can follow simple directions.  When he is told to do something, he usually will...most of the time.

Build-A-Pony

This little girlie accomplished yet another goal at home...she's been going potty AT NIGHT all by herself!  Mommy and Daddy couldn't be more proud...and well rested, too (at least until Ayden hangs up his binky on the Binky Tree...dreading that just a bit)!  Allie does on occasion come into our room "forgetting" that she can go to the bathroom all by herself. Todd or I usually remind her that she'll earn another sticker if she goes by herself.  After the reminder, she will usually go by herself...every now and then however, there is no convincing.  Small steps.

As a reward, Allie has had her eye on a big stuffed My Little Pony forever now.  Robby so kindly got Allie a gift card to Build-A-Bear for her birthday we've been saving for the perfect day.  So, off we went!

Princess Celestia was the pony Allie chose.  She has wings, a horn, and sparkly rainbow hair...she's perfect!  Way to go, Allie girl!

New sticker chart goal: EAT YOUR LUNCH AT SCHOOL (and keep going potty at night by YOURSELF!)
